Spray it down with engine de-gunker then wipe it down with a rag then turn the hose on it. And repainting the valve covers would help with the look too. P.S sorry for your loss you have my condolences.

Thank you. Are there any components (alternator, distributor) that I should cover before spraying everywhere?

Alternator, air cleaner gap, stuff like that.

I usually wrap the distributor with foil or plastic before spraying.

If she doesn't fire afterwards a shot of WD40 around the dist usually clears things up.

I cleaned mine up from dirtier than that using just a garden hose and a 50:50 mix of Simple Green. I didn't cover anything up, just avoid the alternator (and, in your case the distributor and air intake, which I would probably cover), spray everything with the hose, then hit it with the spray bottle of Simple Green and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Wash it off and 80% of the dirt/grime will come off with it, what's left can be easily scrubbed off.

Either pop off the air cleaner and cover the carb with a plastic bag, or just try to block off all ports to the carb from water. Cover the alternator, voltage regulator, and any other exposed electrics with bags. Then get some engine degunker, or I've found scrubbing bubbles works really well, and go nuts with it. Spray it on everything, let it sit for quite some time, then get a hose and with medium pressure, spray it down. Once the bulk of the grime is gone, you can get a rag and focus on dirtier areas. As for freshning it up, air cleaner is an easy thing to paint. Valve covers as well. Then just make sure all the wires and hoses are kinda tucked up where they need to be.

Also, make some homemade spark plug wire organizers out of 8 zip ties!

Old engine bays are so refreshing to look at. No plastic cover garbage and tons of space.

I will own a 300B someday. It is one of my goals

A 4-door hardtop Imperial is high on my list too.

What's with the burlap? Is that a factory modification?

Also, sorry about your loss. :(

It's rusty screen door mesh for some reason. I guess to protect the rad from rocks?

Two gorgeous Chrylsers. And the 300B is the most beautiful Chrysler ever made in my opinion.

I think it is one of the best looking cars ever made. It was also the most powerful at the time with 350 horsepower.

Truly awesome car.

That is the likely reason.
